Law firm Dentons has appointed Nieves Briz as Barcelona managing partner and as a new partner in the corporate and M&A department.
In her new role, Briz will be in charge of strengthening Dentons' position in the Catalan market, which the firm said plays an important role in its growth strategy for Spain and Europe.
Briz joined Dentons from Barcelona-based law firm Jausas, where she was a partner in the commercial law and compliance departments, and was responsible for the China desk for five years. Previously, she was a partner at EY Abogados.
Briz has 30 years of experience in M&A and commercial law. She has worked on more than 100 transactions in sectors including finance, real estate, pharmaceuticals, textiles and electricity, advising domestic and international clients.
She joined Dentons with a team of two lawyers from Jausas, senior associate Natalia Ontiveros and junior associate Wenbo Zhou.
