DeA Capital launches new alternatives fund
Italian asset manager DeA Capital Alternative Funds has announced the launch of a new alternatives fund that will target global private equity investments, along with investments in private debt and infrastructure.
The split between the asset classes is 25% private equity, 50% private debt and 25% infrastructure, subject to review.
Among the targeted regions for investments are Europe and the US.
DeA Endowment Fund will have initial commitments of €75m with backing from three Italian banking foundations: Cariverona, Foundation Caritro and Fondazione Carima.
The fund has been created to invest exclusively on behalf of Italian banking foundations.
These foundations have historically controlled the largest Italian banks and financial institutions, and have increasingly begun to diversify their investments and strengthen their social roles.
It is understood that other foundations have expressed interest in backing the fund.
Founded in 2006, DeA Capital Alternative Funds has €2.4bn in assets under management and is fully owned by Milan Stock Exchange-listed DeA Capital.
