Eurizon launches private markets arm
Italian asset manager Eurizon has launched a new organisation specialising in alternatives investments that have a focus on the real economy, including private equity and private debt.
Eurizon Capital Real Asset SGR is a joint venture owned 49% by Intesa Sanpaolo Vita and 51% by Eurizon Capital SGR – the latter is the asset management company of Intesa Sanpaolo Group.
The new organisation, which has been operating since December 2019, has €3.4bn in assets under management delegated from Intesa Sanpaolo Vita.
The launch of the joint venture comes as Eurizon looks to strengthen its coverage of illiquid investments. Eurizon Capital Real Asset's team consists of 10 people with expertise in private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real estate.
The focus of the new company is on establishing and managing mandates and alternative investment funds for Intesa's insurance division, institutional investors, family offices, and private customers of Intesa's private banking division and Banca dei Territori domestic banking business.
