Management buys majority stake in Aurica Capital

The management team of Spanish growth capital firm Aurica Capital has acquired a majority stake in the company.
Ferran Conti, Ramón Mas and Iván Plaza, who have led Aurica's management team since its inception in 2015, have acquired the majority of the firm's share capital, while Banco Sabadell has retained the remainder.
Aurica does not plan to alter the current executive and investment committees, nor to change the firm's investment policy and fund structure, according to a statement.
Raúl Rodríguez, managing director of BS Capital and an executive board member of Aurica, will continue to represent Banco Sabadell in the firm's board.
Banco Sabadell intends to continue to support the firm in deal sourcing and origination, and in building and expanding its network of investors.
Aurica currently manages €200m across its €160m third fund and several co-investments.
Aurica III is dedicated to growth capital investments in mid-market companies with expansion and consolidation potential, generating at least 70% of their revenues from outside Spain.
It typically acquires significant minority stakes by deploying equity tickets in the €8-30m range and up to €50m when in partnership with its co-investors. Target companies are Spanish businesses with revenues in the €20-350m bracket.
The fund has made seven investments to date, including solar tracker manufacturer STI Norland; restaurants operator Larrumba; outsourcing company Winche; and SamyRoad, a marketplace for digital creators.
