Waterland opens Spanish office
Waterland Private Equity has announced the opening of a new office in Barcelona, hiring David Torralba as principal and head of Spain, and Guillermo Galmés as senior adviser.
Torralba has prior experience with JP Morgan, Doughty Hansen and Meridia Capital, while Galmés has previous experience with Morgan Stanley, Mercapital, Magnum Capital and Meridia Capital.

Waterland's previous activity in Spain has generally taken place in the form of add-ons, such as Enreach's acquisition of Masvoz and United Pet Food's acquisition of Bynsa.
The new office is the GP's 12th, and establishes the firm in its 10th European country to date. Waterland announced the opening of an office in Manchester in June 2021, as reported. Prior to this, the GP had opened a Paris office in September 2020.
