Pavoncelli departs Lazard to set up PE outfit
Riccardo Pavoncelli is to launch a private equity investment company for private wealth investors, following his departure from Lazard at the end of March, according to media reports.
The former head of Lazard's Italian operations joined the company in 2005, brought in by Bruce Wasserstein, Lazard's former chief executive officer who died in October 2009.
Pavoncelli ran Lazard's Italian business for two years before becoming co-head of financial sponsors with Isabelle Xou. He joined Lazard after a 17-year stint at Morgan Stanley.
