3i sells venture portfolio for less than half value
London-based private equity firm 3i has reportedly sold its venture portfolio to an unnamed bidder for around £100m, a substantial discount on the approximate £250m book value.
10 bids were received for the portfolio, which includes French online sales companies PriceMinister and FastBooking, mobile internet provider The Cloud and semiconductor company Icera. Bidders included a group comprising Coller Capital, HarbourVest Partners and DFJ Esprit and another including Amadeus Capital Partners and Ethean Capital.
