Mutua Madrileña suscribes €16m to Altamar fund
Spanish insurance firm Mutua Madrileña has committed €16m to Altamar Secondary Opportunities, taking a 25% stake in the €65m secondaries fund.
The fund targets institutional investors and seeks to take LP positions acquired prior to the crisis. The vehicle will seek to buy commitments valued between €5-15m from investors whose portfolios have seen a 50% depreciation due to the crisis.
Altamar Secondary Opportunities, which closed in December above the initial €50m target, is the the fourth fund raised by Altamar since it began operating in 2004.
