
Athena, Imi sell packaging printer Centroplast
Private equity houses Athena Private Equity and Imi Fondi Chiusi have sold their 91.2% stake in Italian packaging manufacturer Centroplast to Spanish paper and packaging producer Saica.
Financial details for the transaction have not been disclosed.
During its private-equity-backed period, the company saw its revenues increase from €40m in 2007 to €67m in 2015, while its headcount progressed from 40 up to 235, according to unquote" data.
Previous funding
In February 2008, the GPs acquired an equally split 91.2% stake in the business, alongside the management team, which retained the remaining 8.8% stake.
Company
Established in 1965 and headquartered in Forlì, Centroplast produces flexible packaging using flexographic and rotogravure printing technology. The company has operational plants in Italy and Luxembourg and employs 235 people.
According to press reports, the company generated €67m in revenues in 2015 and expects to post a turnover of €75m in 2016.
