Active sells Reviewpro via trade sale
Spanish venture capital fund Active Venture Partners has sold Barcelona-based online reputation analytics firm Reviewpro in a trade sale.
The VC agreed to sell Reviewpro to Chinese listed corporate Shiji Information Technology, a big data application service. According to press reports, the Beijing-based corporate acquired a 79.47% stake in the business for $28m. The deal is reported to value the company at $35m EV.
The VC originally invested in the business via its second technology-dedicated vehicle, the 2010-vintage Amerigo Innvierte Spain Ventures FCR – formerly known as Active Venture II, which held a final close on €54m in September 2012. At launch, the fund manager did not name a target size.
Previous financing
In July 2013, Active injected €3m into the business as part of a €5.5m funding round.
Company
Founded in 2008 and based in Barcelona, Reviewpro develops a software focusing on online reputation feedback for hospitality companies. The company has 64 employees and posted annual revenue growth of 40% according to a statement.
