Talde fully exits Spanish telecoms firm Iberfibra
Spanish growth capital investor Talde Private Equity has sold its 25% stake in telecommunications provider Iberfibra Group.
Talde sold its 25% stake to the controlling shareholders. The exit follows a six-year holding period, in which the company boosted the commercialisation of its fibre-optic network in Spain.
Previous funding
In March 2011, Talde bought a 25% stake in Neo-Sky via its Talde Capital II vehicle, as part of the company's spinout from Grupo Iberdrola. Alongside Talde's acquisition, the €68.2m deal saw Gala Fund Management acquire a 70% stake in the business via its Ambar Venture Capital fund, while asset management firm Grupo Fuertes bought a 5% holding. Spanish lenders Grupo Santander, La Caixa and Bankinter provided a debt facility to support the transaction.
In September 2015, the investor consortium sold Neo-Sky's telecoms service Neo Operador to Spain's listed fixed and mobile lines operator Masmóvil for €27.1m.
Following the deal, the GPs retained a stake in Neo-Sky, which was renamed Iberfibra Group, and included Iberfibra and business development service provider Neutra.
Company
Headquartered in Madrid, Iberfibra provides telecommunications services to private homes and businesses.
Founded in 2002 as part of Neo-Sky, the company commercialises fibre-optic services and operates 17,000 kilometres of network across Spain.
