
Vertis holds €30m first close for second VC fund
Italian venture capital house Vertis has held a €30m first close for its second vehicle, Vertis Venture 2 Tecnologie.
According to a statement, the fund manager aims to reach the fund's €60m target within the next 12 months, exceeding its predecessor, Vertis Venture, which raised €25m of commitments.
The GP also currently manages two private-equity-dedicated vehicles, Vertis Capital and Vertis Capital Parallel.
Investors
Italian state-backed Fondo Italiano d'Investimento acted as anchor investor for the fund via its €163m venture capital fund-of-funds, providing €17m.
According to press reports, Italian pension funds Cassa Forense and Intercassa collectively committed €20m to the vehicle.
Investments
The GP targets early-stage investments with a €2-6m equity ticket in companies focused on innovation and digital transformation. These include robotics, automation and digital technologies.
The fund has a six-year investment period and a 12-year lifespan.
