
HgCapital buys 69% Dada stake for €46m
Private equity firm HgCapital has acquired a 69.4% stake in listed Italian data manager Dada and is aiming for a take-private.
According to public documents, the GP acquired a 69.4% stake in the business for €46.33m, with a 400 cent share price. Following the transaction, the fund manager aims to acquire the remaining stake at the same share price, for a total value of €66.7m.
The deal saw the GP acquire the business from Luxembourg-based holding Libero Acquisition and the management team. The latter will retain its role in the business following the sale.
Company
Established in 1995, Dada provides web-related services, including hosting, domains, servers and cybersecurity for SMEs. Headquartered in Florence, the company also has a presence in the UK, Spain, Ireland, France, Portugal and the Netherlands.
In 2016, the business posted €63.7m in revenues, a €10.6m EBITDA and a €3.98 EBIT.
