CareVentures holds first close on €60m
Spanish healthcare investor CareVentures has held a first close on €60m for its debut institutional fund, Unquote understands.
The vehicle was registered in Luxembourg as CareVentures Fund II SCSP in April this year.
The firm previously invested from a pledge fund, backing healthcare services ventures in Europe and emerging markets.
The Barcelona-based firm has set a target of €100m for the fund, which it expects to reach by the end of the year.
Acanthus Advisers is acting as placement agent for the raise and Langham Hall is acting as fund administrator.
Investors
The fund is being marketed to both Spanish and international investors.
Investments
The fund will make investments in the healthcare services sector across Europe. It backed a €25m series-A funding round for genetic diagnostics firm Centogene alongside Deutsche Private Equity in June 2017.
