GVC Gaesco launches €50m growth capital fund
Barcelona-based financial group GVC Gaesco has launched its first private equity fund, Zamit Capital, a growth capital vehicle dedicated to the Spanish market, Unquote understands.
The fund, which was launched with a €50m target, has already raised around €30m and expects to hold a final close in the first quarter of 2020. It is managed by a team led by general manager Jesús Muela.
Investors
Zamit has an investor base primarily composed of Spanish family offices and high-net-worth individuals.
Investments
The fund will acquire minority stakes in family-owned Spanish companies with enterprise values of around €30-50m, EBITDA of €2-5m and revenues in the €30-60m bracket. It plans to make around 10 deals and deploy equity tickets in the €3-6m range, targeting businesses with high-growth potential and strong management.
In addition, it will co-invest with its LPs and other private equity funds for larger deals. Zamit will be sector-agnostic and invest in a wide variety of industries, except for financial services and real estate.
