Sherpa sells Cegasa Portable Energy to Autlán for €26m
Spanish GP Sherpa Capital has sold Cegasa Portable Energy to Mexican mining company Autlán for €26.35m.
The sale does not include the rest of the Cegasa group, which will continue to be managed by the GP.
By acquiring the Cegasa Portable Energy unit, Autlán will also become the owner of the 50% stake that Cegasa holds in Energía Portátil Cogeneración, a joint-venture with Iberdrola Cogeneración that operates an electric energy generation unit.
Sherpa acquired three business units of Cegasa (portable energy, manufacturing of manganese, and energy and light commercialisation) in 2014.
Company
Founded in 1934 and headquartered in Oñati, in the Basque Country, Cegasa Portable Energy is a producer of electrolytic manganese dioxide used in the manufacturing of alkaline batteries. It generated revenues of €17.7m in 2019.
