Fenera & Partners launches three funds-of-funds
Fenera & Partners has launched its second generation of fund-of-funds, Fenera Private Equity II and Fenera Private Debt II, with a target of €75-100m each.
The vehicles will invest in both secondary and primary funds across the US, Asia and northern Europe. The first tranche of investments will be exclusively dedicated to the secondaries market.
Giacomo Strata, CEO at Fenera, told Unquote: "The secondaries market has been booming recently and is gaining momentum. We plan to deploy around 25% of our funds in this attractive segment of the private equity industry."
In addition, Fenera has launched Asian Opportunity I, a private equity fund-of-funds dedicated exclusively to the Asian market.
The GP launched its debut fund-of-funds, Fenera Private Equity I, Fenera Private Debt I and Fenera Real Estate I, in April 2018. The three vehicles collected €140m in total and are currently fully deployed.
Fenera also manages a direct lending vehicle, Fenera European Lending I, which held a €75m first close in October 2019.
Fenera is led by CEO and co-founder Giacomo Stratta, who launched the firm alongside co-founder Pietro Mazza Midana in January 2018. The management team also includes president Alberto Savio, chief operating officer Silvia Garino, and managers Roberto Reggiani and Stefano Pera. The firm has total assets under management of €300m.
Investors
The funds' LP base is composed of 75% high-net-worth individuals and 25% Italian institutional investors, primarily insurance companies and banks.
Investments
Fenera Private Equity II and Fenera Private Debt II invest in international funds based in the US (50%) northern Europe (25%) and Asia (25%). They will deploy 20-25% of their capital to target funds in the secondaries market.
