
Orange Capital buys La Sanfermese
Orange Capital Development has acquired a majority stake in Italian cereals producer La Sanfermese from the founding Pelladoni family.
The GP acquired the company via its vehicle Wealth Venture Fund.
Following the deal, CEO and sales and marketing manager Andrea Pelladoni will stay on with the business and retain a minority stake.
The Pelladoni family had mandated UBS to manage the sale of the company in May 2019, according to press reports. In March 2020, it was reported that the family had entered into exclusive negotiations with Orange Capital.
Orange Capital plans to boost the company's growth and international expansion into new geographies. In addition, it intends to expand the company's product offering in new agri-food sectors, including the organic, healthy and free-from food segments.

Established in 1985 and based in in San Fermo di Piubega, near Mantova, La Sanfermese specialises in the production of cereals and legumes, including corn, wheat, soya, quinoa and oats for the food industry.
The company generates annual revenues of around €45m.
