
Peninsula, Azimut buy Isola dei Tesori
Peninsula Capital and Azimut Libera Impresa have acquired a majority stake in pet food and toys specialist DMO Pet Care, which controls the chain Isola dei Tesori.
Intesa and Unicredit provided a debt package to support the deal.
The acquisition was made via a newco, PI4, which will own a 75% stake in DMO Pet Care, while the remainder will be controlled by the founding Celeghin family and the management team, led by CEO Stefano Di Bella.
The deal includes a capital increase to support the company's growth, expansion plan and acquisition strategy.
Azimut invested in the business via Demos 1, a retail private equity fund that raised €300m in 2019 and started to invest in March 2020.

Established in 2000 and based in Pernumia, Isola dei Tesori sells food, toys and accessories for pets.
The company distributes its products online and in 230 mono shops and stores located across Italy.
Isola dei Tesori generated revenues of €135m and EBITDA of around €12m in 2019.
