Amadeus has appointed Roy Merritt as a director. Merritt began his career at Apax Partners before joining Esprit Telecom Group as CFO. After the company's acquisition by Global TeleSystems in 1999, Merritt joined Providence Equity Partners and was then recruited by Deutsche Bank to set up DB Capital Ventures. Upon Deutsche Bank's withdrawal from private equity in 2003, Merritt set up his own investment vehicle, Orcapital.
