Mischon Corporate Finance in JV with Arkios
Mischon Corporate Finance Ltd, the corporate finance arm of Mischon de Reya, has entered into a joint venture with corporate finance boutique Arkios Ltd. This pooling of advisory and execution skills will enable Arkios to broaden the range of corporate finance services that it offers to emerging companies across Europe. Arkios was established in August 2001 by Charles Nettlefold, Simon Abel and Richard Bryant, who had previously worked together at BNP Paribas. It specialises in raising equity capital for unlisted companies in the £5-50m range. Arkios also provides related services that include advice on M&A, buyouts and general strategy, raising debt finance and assistance with commercial development and partnering. It has advised three companies who have raised equity this year: Intuwave, a leading UK supplier of software for mobile devices; Open Business Exchange, a UK company providing the automated electronic exchange of critical business documents; and Hotsip AB, the leading independent server software vendor of session initiation protocol and presence products for mobile and fixed line service providers, based in Sweden. Mishcon's chairman John Jackson has become chairman of Arkios and the firm's managing partner Kevin Gold and corporate partner James Wilcox have also joined the board. Established in 1937 by Lord Mishcon, Mishcon de Reya provides legal services to a wide range of corporate, entrepreneurial and individual clients. The firm has developed specialist client-focused groups including banking, technology and E-commerce and currently has 36 partners.
