Porton Capital has appointed Shimi Shah as a director based in London. Shah joined 1 October 2004, and will focus on the origination, structuring and performance monitoring of fund investments. She has experience in private equity, investment portfolio management and technology fund management. Prior to joining Porton Capital, Shah worked as a director at Partnerships UK plc in London where she set up and established the group's equity business. Previously, she was chief investment officer at Hanson Capital, managing an Anglo-American technology fund of over $20m. Her focus moved to private equity when she joined 3i plc, as an investment executive focusing on technology investments. She launched her career in project finance covering Africa and Asia with Citigroup, where she joined as a graduate associate, having graduated from Queens' College Cambridge with a masters in management.
