Granville Baird

The US securities firm, Robert W Baird, has appointed two new joint executive chairmen for its European division, Granville Baird. John Fordham, currently head of transatlantic M&A at Granville Baird, will become joint executive chairman with responsibility for equity capital markets. Fordham joined Granville Baird in mid 2000, and was previously head of European corporate finance at William Blair. Between 1993 and 1998 he was managing director and head of European investment banking at Alex Brown.

Michael Proudlock, Fordham’s joint executive chairman, will be responsible for private equity. At present he is chairman of Granville Baird Capital Partners, which he has managed since 1985. He is also coordinator of Baird’s global private equity business. These appointments come shortly after it was announced that David Williamson, chief executive of Granville Baird, would be leaving the firm, along with Nicholas Donaldson, head of investment banking.
