Scottish Enterprise teams up with angel investors
Scottish Enterprise, the largest development agency in the UK, has signed up several private investor groups for a new co-investment initiative. The £20m scheme is planned to go some way towards filling the equity gap which faces entrepreneurs looking for start-up and early-stage funding and will co-invest directly with angel investors. Todate three groups have signed up for the scheme: Archangel from Edinburgh, Perth-based Braveheart and most recently Medical Marketing International Group plc, a technology management firm. Discussions are currently underway with a number of other potential partners including Hamilton Portfolio, run by John Boyle, and Simpson Research, managed by David Simpson. In all a further ten or more partners are expected to be announced over the coming month according to a Scottish Enterprise spokesman.
