VCTs deliver poor returns says research
A recent report from Hotbed suggests that VCTs are underperforming the private equity asset class as a whole. BVCA figures show that UK private equity (excluding VCTs) delivered an annual return of 9% over the last five years. This compares favourably with an average of 1.9% for total UK pension fund assets. Figures from Trustnet reveal that the returns for VCTs have averaged -2.7% over the same period.
