Atlas Venture
Atlas Venture has announced the promotions of Sonali De Rycker and Martin Gibson. Former principals, both De Rycker and Gibson will now serve as partners at Atlas Venture, based in the firm's London office. De Rycker focuses on investments in enterprise software and Internet-enabled businesses. Since joining Atlas Venture in 2000, she has played a valuable part in supporting portfolio companies Kalido, Magicalia, BizzEnergy and Choreology. Prior to business school, De Rycker spent three years within the corporate finance team at Goldman Sachs, where she helped co-found a new business advising Fortune 50 corporations on strategic acquisition alternatives. She holds a BA in economics with honors from Bryn Mawr College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Gibson concentrates on investments in semiconductors, storage and communications, working closely with Atlas Venture portfolio companies Icera Semiconductor, Azea, Orthogon Systems, Phyworks, RadioScape and Xelerated. Before joining the Atlas Venture team in 2000, his career spanned 10 years of innovative product development at Madge Networks, CellStack and Scientific Generics. He holds an MA in electrical and information sciences from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
