SG Financial Sponsor Coverage Group

SG’s leveraged finance and M&A divisions have announced the formation of a joint financial sponsor coverage group (FSC) which will target private equity firms in the UK and offer a combination of SG’s M&A advisory and debt financing capabilities. The group, made up of a London-based team of five, will be headed by managing director Scott Phillips. He worked in SG’s New York leveraged finance group between 1996 and 2000, covering US financial sponsors, before moving to SG London. SG has also hired Nick Heptinstall as director in financial sponsor coverage. Heptinstall joins from Merrill Lynch, where he covered financial sponsors from within its UK M&A group.
