BVCA task force investigates funding guidelines
Edmund Truell, chairman of the British Venture Capital Association and chief executive of Duke Street Capital, has announced the formation of a BVCA task force, headed by BVCA executive director Jennifer English, to investigate the possibility of new guidelines for member firms for sources of funding. The move follows in the wake of the terrorist attack on the Manhattan World Trade Centre Twin Towers on 11 September and the subsequent global focus on the financial world. Says Truell: ‘It is a matter of immediate and urgent concern to me that this industry is not just free of dubious sources of financing but is seen to be so’. The task force is expected to report to Truell (who will then report to the BVCA council) with draft guidelines and proposed recommendations by the end of November.
