GMT Communication Partners has announced that Prelz Oltramonti has joined GMT as a Senior Advisor and member of the investment committee. Oltramonti was previously European managing director at Advent International, where he spent eight years building and positioning the firm's European presence in investing in media and telecommunications. He was also responsible for founding Advent International's Italian and French offices. After leaving Advent International in 1999, he went on to become a special limited partner at Gilbert Global Equity Partners until 2001. Since 2001, he has taken on a number of senior positions including chairman of Jazztel Plc, an independent telecommunications and data transmission carrier, director of CyberCity AS, an internet and broadband services providers in Denmark, and adviser to DN Capital. Since 1988, Oltramonti has completed over 23 venture capital investments in the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, Spain, Ireland and Belgium, and has been a director of numerous companies including: Esaote (Italy), EDAP (France), ESAT (Ireland), Scandinavian Broadcasting Systems SA (Luxembourg), and Primacon AG (Germany).
