DTI removes 20 partner limit on limited partnerships
Following the issue in April of this year of a consultation document by the Department of Trade and Industry entitled ‘Removing the 20 Partner Limit’, which was distributed to some 2,280 organisations, companies and individuals, the department received 68 responses, 52 of which were in favour of removal of the limit, and has announced its intention to proceed with an application for a Regulatory Reform Order to remove the limit. It will therefore no longer be necessary in the future to construct parallel partnerships, which will save the industry both time and money.
