Best ever second quarter for UK buy
The second quarter of 2005 marked the UK buyout market's best performance ever, according to figures released by KPMG's Private Equity Group. The group tracks buyouts with a value of over £10m and registered the second quarter of this year as the first time any quarter had broken the £8bn mark. The second quarter saw six public-to-private transactions with a combined value of £2.2bn, while secondary and tertiary transactions totalled £3.4bn.
