Unions look to force disclosure
Trade Unions may use the new European directive on employment laws to force private equity houses to share information on issues such as redundancy plans and expected investment returns. The new law come into place in 2005 and is likely to result in increased calls for access to such data on the part of Trade Unions. The Department of Trade and Industry, which is responsible for the implementation of the new directive, recently introduced a framework on information and consultation.
