Rise in venture investments
Venture Index has reported a 9% rise in the number of investments under £1m in UK companies. Designed to track 'equity gap' investments of under £1m in the UK, Venture Index sees the rise as signalling a recovery at this end of the market. In the twelve months to the end of May 2005, the index reported the total amount invested in smaller, unlisted UK companies had reached £40m spread over 283 deals. In the twelve months to March 2005 the index reported an all time low of £38.7m.
