3i closes two offices
3i has closed two of its regional offices. The group's offices in Reading and central Birmingham have closed while 3i will also cease to make investments from its other Birmingham office, based near the city's international airport. The closures will result in the loss of 10 jobs and follow recent decisions to curtail operations in Edinburgh, Nottingham and Liverpool. 3i is also selling off its investment portfolios in Glasgow, Bristol and Leeds as part of its strategy to cut costs by centralising its business.
