Lazards
The investment bank Lazard is set to expand its European buyout operation, building on the fund placement business it set up last year, recruiting two senior European private equity executives. Graham Keniston-Cooper has agreed to join the firm, as has Victor Vadaneaux. Keniston-Cooper was a director at Cinven until late 2002, whilst Vadaneaux was a partner at Advent International. Lazards is planning to recruit at least one more senior executive, and further junior staff, later this year. Reports also suggest that the firm may launch a European buyout fund as part of its strategy. Seven placement professionals, including Ben Sullivan and William Riddle, left Merrill Lynch last February to set up Lazard’s placement group.
