Lovells and Siméon & Associés to merge
Lovells –the fourth largest law firm in Europe – has announced a merger with the French law firm Siméon & Associés, effective from the 1 November 2001. The merged firm will be known as Lovells. The combining of the two firms’ French and Belgian operations will mean that the Paris office becomes Lovell’s largest after London. The combined firm will have 26 locations worldwide, with over 300 partners, 1,400 lawyers, and a total of around 2,800 employees. Lovells was created in January 2000 following a merger between Lovell White Durrant and Boesebeck Droste; it is currently the eighth largest law firm in the world. Siméon & Associés was established in 1974. Its operation is split between Paris and Brussels.
