Blackstone
The New York-based Blackstone Group has announced the appointment of David Verey as a senior adviser in Europe. Verey was with Lazard Brothers for 28 years, becoming CEO in 1990 and chairman two years later. He was a non-executive of media group Pearson from 1996 to 2000. Verey was subsequently appointed deputy chairman of Cazenove, leaving last year. He is regarded as one of London’s most senior corporate financiers. He is expected to play a prominent role in Blackstone’s efforts to expand into Europe. He joins its European board and will act as a senior investment adviser.
