Connect Scotland moves on
Connect, a technology network with introduces new Scottish companies to potential investors, is to spin out from Edinburgh University, where it has been based at the Management School for the past five years. The new legal entity, Connect Scotland, will be a not-for-profit company owned by the five-strong management team which has built the organisation to date. Connect, which runs the major Connect Investment Conference, will continue to provide workshops, seminars and conferences whereby entrepreneurs can present ideas and business plans to investors from around the world. The organisation also provides a forum for research institutes, university departments and R&D activities at Scottish companies to meet and establish collaborative projects. Since it was set up in 1996, Connect has assisted 114 technology companies in the search for funding, with IndigoVision, Voxar, Aspects Software and Wavegen being just a few well-known companies to have gained from Connect’s assistance.
