NatWest Development Capital
NatWest Development Capital (NWDC), part of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s private equity group, has extended its regional focus in the UK by adding two new offices in Birmingham and Manchester. These will complement and build on NWDC’s existing offices in Edinburgh, Leeds, London and Nottingham. The move into Birmingham is led by Steve Currie who transfers from the Nottingham office, where he was recruited in early 1998 from Coopers & Lybrand Corporate Finance. The launch of the Manchester office follows the appointment of Andy Gregory who is returning to private equity following a spell in industry. He trained with Arthur Andersen, which initiated his move into corporate finance, latterly with NatWest Equity Partners (NWEP). He then joined the NWEP-backed buyout of Pennine Computers (7 June 1999, page 17) as finance director; NWEP exited last year (27 March 2000, page 27).
