mBlox
Mblox, a leading global provider of SMS infrastructure services, has announced that it has acquired Swapcom SMS. The agreement leaves mBlox with a strong foothold in the French market. The company’s premium rate SMS services now include 14 countries including the UK, US, Spain, Germany and France. In early 2001 Internet Incubator made a £1.1m investment in the company in return for a 23% equity stake. In April 2001 the business acquired the Swedish developer of wireless internet services, CoTraveller. Lyon-based Swapcom is a provider of mobile software systems. Founded in 1999 by a team of telecommunications experts, Swapcom develops mobile messaging, content and device management software based on SMS-EMS, MMS and Cell Broadcast technologies.
