AIM proposes shake up of rules for cash shells
The London Stock Exchange has commenced a consultation process that could lead to a significant overhaul of rules governing shell companies listed on AIM. Its main proposal is introducing a minimum fundraising requirement of £3m for investing companies (so-called cash shells), and requiring them to make an acquisition within a year of joining the market or face de-listing.
