BDO Stoy Hayward has appointed Shagun Dubey as a partner in the area of business rescue and restructuring. Dubey, who joins BDO Stoy Hayward from Ernst and Young, brings significant experience in all aspects of restructuring. His expertise includes debt restructuring, distressed M&A, investigations, pre-restructuring advice and managing distress situations. His assignments include both formal restructuring appointments and out-of-court advisory engagements. He has also gained considerable experience on cross border assignments involving other European and US jurisdictions. Dubey has worked on a range of mid to large restructuring assignments. These include: a leading role in the core team assigned to stabilise matters in the immediate aftermath of the Barings crisis; work-out of a number of property development groups including part of Ossory Estates and THI; advice to a distressed US mortgage company on their £300m UK loan book; orderly wind-down of the British and Commonwealth financial services group; restructuring and part disposal of Viatel Communications; and the restructuring of a $450m bond debt in the life science sector and the restructuring of Cenargo's sea ferrying and logistics operations.
