Dunedin Enterprise Investment Trust
Dunedin Enterprise Investment Trust has reported its annual results for the year ending 30 April 2003. NAV per share increased by 8.5% in the second half of the year, following a decline of 12.7% in the first half. The results for the full year show a decline in net asset value per share of 5.3% (2002:-9.9%). Dunedin Enterprise has had an active year with new investment in unquoted companies of £10.4m (2002: £11.1m) and realisations of £28.5m (2002: £34.2m). In addition, the portfolio has been given greater focus with the disposal of a number of small investments, the sale of all quoted holdings and a greater proportion of assets committed to the UK buyout market. The year's results have meant that the company significantly outperformed its benchmark index, the FTSE Small Cap Index (excluding investment companies), for the second successive year.
