Recent press reports indicate that David Gamble is to join Gartmore as a non-executive director in charge of private equity. Gamble was the former chief executive of British Airways Pensions Investment Management. Gartmore has recently been expanding its specialist private equity business, having appointed Nick Shaw from the Shell pension scheme as deputy managing director. At the same time, Peter Gail was recruited as non-executive director with responsibility for private equity.
