SJ Berwin
SJ Berwin has announced seven new partners in the London office, two of whom, Jonathan Pittal and Perry Yam, are from the private equity team in the corporate finance department. Pittal has extensive experience of purchases and sales of companies and businesses and of private equity transactions, and is a member of the firm's private equity funds group. Yam advises on corporate transactions for institutions and management teams as well as the establishment of Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs) and their investments, and is an active member of the firm's cross-departmental sports business and e-commerce groups. The firm has also announced the appointment of three new partners in its Munich office, two of whom are private equity specialists, and five new partners in its Frankfurt office, which focuses on M&A, private equity and tax. Following an intensive period of expansion in continental Europe, SJ Berwin has also completed a visual rebranding process and has announced the launch of a new visual identity, designed, according to senior partner David Harrel, to reflect the firm’s determination to be a truly European law firm, rather than an English firm abroad.
