Advent Venture Partners, the independent venture capitalist specialising in the technology and healthcare sectors, has appointed James McNaught-Davis as a director to its technology team. The team at Advent now comprises nine investment directors, five of whom, including McNaught-Davis, concentrate on information technology investments. McNaught-Davis will focus in particular on investments in the software and IT services sector in Europe as well as in the UK. Currently a non-executive director of Ecsoft Group plc, Fineos Ltd and Netik plc, McNaught-Davis joins from Warburg Pincus where he was partner and managing director responsible for IT investments in Europe. Prior to Warburg Pincus, he was executive vice president of Misys plc where he was responsible for corporate development, including M&A in North America. During that period, he also started Misys Inc., the group’s Northern American holding company, and acquired several software businesses in the US.
