Nicola D'Anselmo of BNP Paribas moved to the London office on 1 February as co-head of leveraged finance UK, alongside Mike Johnson, reporting to Jean Bergeret, head of leveraged finance Europe. In his new position, D’Anselmo will be actively involved in the marketing of BNP Paribas' European leveraged finance capabilities to the pan-European sponsors based in London. He will remain head of leveraged finance Italy, a position he has held since 1998. As head of leveraged finance Italy, D’Anselmo, 37, ran the bank's involvement in such landmark leveraged finance deals such as Seat PG at E4.3bn, and Galbani, which exceeded E1bn. He joined the bank's leveraged finance department in Milan in 1995, after a credit analyst job with Citibank.
