Strongest business confidence for three years

European business confidence is at its highest level for three years according to the 3i European Barometer Index, which measures private companies' confidence in business, political and economic environments. The index is also positive for the first time for three years. UK private companies remain generally optimistic, with over 50% of them expecting an increase in turnover this quarter. UK non-manufacturers (+23%) remain more upbeat than manufacturing (-17%).
