Texas Pacific Group (TPG) has named Vincenzo Morelli as its partner in charge of operations for TPG's European portfolio companies, effective from 1 March. Morelli comes to TPG with extensive international experience in restructuring challenged companies and in building businesses through internal growth and acquisition/turnaround strategies. Most recently, he was a managing director with Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), the global turnaround and interim management firm. While there, he served as chief restructuring officer of Schulte GmbH, a German wholesaler of plumbing and heating materials, which was successfully sold in February 2004 and he recently completed a ten month turnaround mandate as CEO of the Fantuzzi Group in Italy, where he coordinated the restructuring of over E350m of debt. Immediately prior to joining A&M, Morelli was a senior advisor with Clayton, Dubilier and Rice and before that was the CEO of Kontron Instruments Group. Morelli, who also serves as non-executive chairman of United Medical Enterprises, a UK-based investment and services firm active in the PFI sector, is a graduate of Oxford University and of Stanford Business School.
