DTI sets up £10m start-up fund for Southeast firms
The DTI has launched a fund to finance start-up initiatives and provide funding for fast-growth companies in the Southeast. Small business minister, Nigel Griffiths, has launched the £10m fund. The vehicle will provide finance of up to £100,000 for early-stage growth businesses. The fund will operate through Finance South East, a subsidiary of the South East of England Development Agency. It was created with a £5m investment from the DTI's small business service and £5m from HBOS.
